
Kung Pao Brussel Sprouts
This recipe is great for a quick meal or an alternative side for Christmas. It will feed 2 people but is packed full of flavour.
Ingredients:
500g of Brussel Sprouts ( Halved)
2tbsp of olive oil
30g of peanuts
Ingredients for Kung Pao sauce:
2tbsp of sweet chilli
2tbsp of maple syrup
1tbsp of rice vingear
2tbsp of tamari
1tsp of sesame oil
a thumb size of ginger grated
2 garlic cloves grated
50ml of vegetable stock
Ingredients for topping:
3 spring onions
A handful of sesame seeds
A handful of coriander
Method:
To being with peel the sprouts making sure that they are clean and then slice them in half.
Once the sprouts are halved place on a baking tray with greaseproof paper with the peanuts and olive oil and cook in the oven for 30 minutes on a heat of 180C
Whilst the sprouts are being cooked add all the ingredients for the kung pao sauce in a small saucepan and cook until thick. This should take 5 minutes.
Once the sprouts are cooked mix will the sauce in a bowl before plating. Once plated you can then add the toppings.
